August 13, 1927 WINNETKA TALK C.and N. W. Will Install New Type Suburban Coaches The Chicago & North Western rail- way new roller bearing suburban coaches were on exhibition Saturday, August 6. Added comfort for Chicago & North Western suburban patrons is assured with the installation of this first complement of the latest "North Western" design suburban coaches equipped with Hyatt bearings. Within two months 120 coaches will be in service; each comfortably seat- ing 98 persons, or one-third more than the old style coaches. Commuters will appreciate the riding comfort of Hyatt bearings which make starting and stopping easier, it is stated. These new, all steel and aluminum coaches are finished in tan walls, cream ceilings and green upholstering. The windows have brass frames al- lowing more glass surface, and the double-acting doors in wide vestibules render passage easy. The electric lighting placed immediately over seats makes reading easier. Roofed and plated with steel-strong aluminum, each coach is ncarly four tons lighter in weight than the old style coaches. They are absolutely fireproof. Health Officer Reports Favorably on Inspection Dr. H. A. Orvis, health officer of Winnetka, reports that the monthly inspection of food handling establish- ments in the village which have been conducted by his department for the past few months, are showing splendid results. There is good response from the food handlers, he says, and a gen- eral tendency upon their part to do everything towards meeting require- ments found to be necessary. New Trier Teachers on Way to Canadian Camp Wesley L. Brown, director of the summer school of New Trier High school, and Walter A. Aschenbach, head football coach of the school, left this week for Barrow Lake in On- tario, Canada, where they will spend the three weeks with "Duke" Childs and a group of north shore boys who are in camp there. Mr. Brown and Mr. Aschenbach will drive as far as Port Arthur where they will leave their car and proceed by train to their destination. Among the people leaving for the North is Mrs. Robert M. Beckler of 632 Abbottsford road, Kenilworth, who will leave tomorrow for Battle Creek, Mich.,, where she will spend a few weeks vacationing. Lacerations Received in Dog Bite Healing Nicely Genevieve Andrews, eleven-year-old daughter of Mrs. Truman Andrews, 1206 Winnetka avenue is reported to be well on the road to recovery from in- juries received on July 26 when she was bitten by a dog. The lacerations were treated at that time by Dr. L. J. Sintzel of Northbrook and are reported to be clearing up nicely.
