August 20, 1927 WINNETKA TALK Champion Woman Angler Sets Out for New Records Consternation has reigned supreme | this week among the finny tribe at] Tommahawk lake, Wisconsin, where | Miss Vinnie Irwin, of Winnetka, who | last year established the season's record | of landing the largest muskelunge | caught there during the year is again | angling for still greater honors. This year it is said she hopes to add | a record catch of pickerel and pike and this winter may take a trip into the northern wilds in quest of deer. Miss Irwin left Friday of last week on the present fishing trip, motoring | up with James Exelby and wife of 745 Sheridan road, Winnetka. It is her an- nual vacation from the duties of sec- retary to the Abel Battery & Ignition service and as secretary of the Win- netka Building & Loan association, with offices at 554 Lincoln avenue. Mr. Abel, who is a stickler for de- tail records and facts, has been con- stantly at his office since Miss Irwin left, awaiting her promised report of the catch from day to day, but up to Thursday had not received a word. His natural conclusion is that she either is having such marvelous success that she has not had time to make her ac- customed daily report, or, that she has not been catching anything.
