October 29, 1927 WINNETKA TALK Community House Board Recognizes Blatchford Bequest In his will, N. H. Blatchford left his property on Ridge avenue, Winnetka, which had been his home of late years, to the board of trustees of the Winnetka Congregational church in trust for the maintenance and upkeep | of the Winnetka Community House, so long as it shall be maintained and re- main within the jurisdiction of the board of trustees of the church. At the quarterly meeting of the board Community House the following letter was voted to be sent to Mr. Blatchford's Frank W. Blatchford and H. Blatchford: "Dear Friends: "At the regular quarterly meeting of the board of governors of Community, House, the portion of your father's will, relating to his bequest to the work of Community House, was read. The director was instructed by the board to write you for the governors their appreciation of this generous act of vour father. "The work of Community House is growing with the enlarging of the community, making more demands upon us. This of course is true of any progressively growing work. is need of more money and this gift will help forward this unique piece of service to this community very ma- terially. Headmaster Perry Dunlavy Smith, will be the principal speaker. Tuesday the parents of the second grade will meet and Wednesday is the date scheduled for the meeting of the parents of the eighth grade. BENEFIT FOR SORORITY HOUSE The Mothers' club of the Delta Zeta sorority will take complete possession of the new sorority house on Saturday evening, October 29, when it will give a large card party, the proceeds going to increase the sorority house fund. Mrs. Herbert Morin, who is president, Mzs. Charles Kraft, vice president, Mrs. G. A. Beem and Mrs. Harry Hemb, all of Wilmette, have been active in working for the success of the party and it is expected there will bs a big attend- ance. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Hannah left Kenilworth on Wednesday for their winter home in Pasadena.
