gt "ad Rt -- October 29, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 51 ASK CO-OPERATION IN ORCHESTRAL PROJECT (Continued from page 1) compeled to resort to the telephone to reach as many as an hundred individ- uals during the last three days pre- ceeding the first concert. Anyone who has ever undertaken the task of reach- ing successively by telephone even fifteen persons will appreciate what this means. With it goes the worry and responsibility of selling to capacity if the concerts are to continue. In this connection we wish to correct a false tickets are not available. The fact is we need some new subscribers as well as old subscribers ready to take up their subscriptions now. With all this now understood, we are confident, that those who have subscribed for the coming season, but have as yet failed to respond, will promptly take up their subscriptions, or notify the secretary, Mrs. B. K. Smith, 517 Orchard lane, Winnetka, telephone, Winnetka 216, of their in- tention to abandon them, and that those who have not subscribed but consider doing so, will hasten to give Mrs. Smith their names, addresses and checks. We even hope that those of our subscribers who earnestly wish to retain the symphony orchestra as an institution here, will, to that end, ac- tively assist in securing new subscrip- tions. Cite Educational Value The educational value and import- ance of these orchestral concerts has induced the officers and committee of this association after careful consid- eration, to appeal directly to your civic pride in maintaining them. To hear them at a point a little more than a stone's throw from our homes is a rare opportunity: to maintain them for the education of our children is one of our myriad civic duties; and to spare the officers and committee of the association unnecessary labor and worry is a courtesy in which, now being in our confidence, none will fail. Business Girls' Group Plans Social Evening Tuesday evening, November 1, the Business Girls' club is planning a so- cial evening in Community House. This group of young women meets regularly cach Tuesday evening for an hour in the gymnasium under the direction of Mrs. Edgar Dale, after which the members hold their regular club meet- ing, with Mrs. Dale and Miss Mar- garet Carswell as leaders. Plans are afoot for social times this winter, and these will be outlined and discussed Tuesday evening. The lat- ter part of the evening will be given over to bridge and dancing, followed by refreshments. Our years of experience in this territory are of in- valuable assistance to those seeking guidance for the investment of funds large or small. We have circu- lars describing a number of select Real Estate Bond of - ferings.
