a November 5, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 33 "Revolt of Youth" Author to Address Uptown Forum The Uptown Forum, meeting in the People's church, at Lawrence avenue and Sheridan road, Chicago, will hear nert Sunday evening, Stanley High of New York on "The Decline of Docil- ity in the Non-white World." Mr. High is a young journalist, who several years ago drew nation-wide attention by his book on the "Revolt of Youth." He has just returned from a year's trip around the world, in which he was fortunate in being able to penetrate some of the dramatic episodes of racial movements on three continents--Eu- rope, Africa, and Asia. On this occasion he will discuss the awakening of the blacks in Africa, and of the peoples in India, China, and Japan. He reports events of world- wide importance, indicating the pass- ing of domination by the white race over peoples in all parts of the world Mr. High's address will be followed by a question period. Fred Atkins Moore of the Chicago Forum council will pre- side. Rate Boilermakers Slight Favorite Over Purple Men Northwestern's grid team, smarting under two successive defeats, will make a determined effort to break back into the win column this week and against Purdue at Lafayette, Ind. The Wildcats feel that the jinx which has been hovering over their lair for several weeks has been at last re- moved and that with their full strength available they should be ready for the Boilermakers. That Coach Phelan's proteges will be sturdy foe is not being overlooked. The Boilermakers have always been a formidable opponent and with their best team in years they can be count- ed upon to put up a staunch fight. he Hoosiers will pit Wilcor, Koran- sky and Welch against Lewis, Gustaf- son and Holmer in their bid for a vic- tory. Enthused over their victory over Montana State, plus the added advan- tage of playing before a homecoming crowd, the Boilermakers can be con- sidered favorites in the forthcoming clash. Maroons and Wolverines Set for Deciding Clash Chicago and Michigan will resume their historic football series this Sat- urday when the Wolverines come to the Midway for the first game tht two teams have played since 1920. From the time that Michigan left the con- ference, until 1919, the team of Stagg and Yost did not meet, but in 1919 the Maroons won, 13 to 0, and in 1920 Michigan won, 14 to 0. Chicago's defeat by Ohio State, 13 to 7, and the victory of Illinois over Michigan, 14 to 0, last Saturday, has not put either team definitely out of the conference race as yet, but s sec- ond defeat means elimination of one of the pair. Chicago was guilty of some stupid football in the Ohio game, and undoubtedly will play a better game Saturday, while Michigan, with Gilbert back in the lineup, will be at full strength again.
