Branch of Evanston. The wedding will take place in the Union church, Kenilworth, on Saturday 'evening, November- 26, at 8:30 o'clock. Following the service there will be a small reception at the Cherry home for relatives and close friends. Dr. Herbert Willett will officiate. Miss Cherry has chosen her sister- mn-law, Mrs, James Cherry, a bride of last spring, to act as her matron of honor, and Miss Inabelle Branch and Mrs. Kenneth Ford of Chicago will serve as her bridesmaids. Young Women's Auxiliary : Works for Christmas Sale 7 he Young Women's auxiliary of the oman's society of the Congregational chirrch is to have a sale on December 7, inithe Camp Fire room at Community Heuse. All sorts of children's articles EW be on sale, including blankets, clothes, bibs, wooden toys, and dolls, and to attract the children themselves there will be a grab-bag and a candy 'table. The auxiliary suggests that those who wish to purchase Christmas gifts for children wait for this sale and take advantage of it. . In preparation for the sale, weekly meetings are being held. Case of 160 Sheridan road, Hubbard Woods, to Lawrence Everett Norem of Winnetka was announced recently. Miss Case was graduated from Smith college in 1926 and made her debut early last December. Mr. Norem is a graduate of the University of Wiscon- sin and is a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Catholic League Gives Large Benefit Wednesday The philanthropy card party being given by the North Shore Catholic Woman's league on Wednesday, No- vember 16, at 2 o'clock at the Evanston Woman's club, is the only big affair given by the league during the year to raise funds for its philanthropic pur- poses. Among the organizations that are helped by the league are the Park Ridge School for Girls, Judge Bartleme's. social enterprises, the vet- erans at Great Lakes, St. Francis hos- pital, the Chicago Historical society, and Prof. Hadley's school. Mrs. William B. Pavey of Winnetka, social chairman of the league, is in charge of the party. The vice chair- man is Mrs. Frederick Albrecht. Guest Day Monday The Winnetka Music club will have its guest program Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Redheffer. 411 Lake avenue, Highland Park. Each member may bring three guests. The program will consist of two groups of piano solos by the hostess, a group of songs by Mrs. C. A. Karstrom, mezzo- soprano, and a number of selections by Mrs. Valona Brewer, violinist. Mrs. Dwight C. Orcutt will accompany Mrs. Karstrom and Mrs. Brewer. Engaged Mr. and Mrs. Julius Arthur Gold- berg of Highland Park have announced the engagement of their daughter, Cecile Kean, to William Block of Winnetka. Hostess at Tea Mrs. Oliver Morton Knode gave a tea Tuesday of this week at her home, about 150 guests. -- 955 Green Bay road. She entertained Cardinal to Officiate at Dennehy Wedding Announcement has been made of the arrangements for the wedding of Miss Virginia Dennehy of Winnetka and Chicago, to Charles F. Clarke of Chi- cago. Cardinal Mundelein will read the nuptial mass in a private chapel at his residence facing Lincoln Park, at 10 o'clock, on Saturday morning, No- vember 19, with only the bride's par- ents and Mr. Clarke's immediate fami- ly present. A breakfast and small reception for the families and a few intimate friends will follow at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Dennehy, 1549 Astor street. Miss Elinor Dennehy, debutante sis- ter of the bride, will be her only attendant, and her brother-in-law, Hempstead Washburne, Jr., will serve as Mr. Clarke's best man. Mr. Clarke and his bride are sailing for Europe on November 23, and will include Naples, Tamina in Sicily, Rome, and Paris in their wedding trip. Circle Activities The Oak Street circle will meet next Tuesday at the home of Mrs. E. L Belote, 1136 Oak street, for an all day sewing meeting. Members are urged to come any time after 10 and remain as long as possible to sew. The assisting hostesses with Mrs. Belote are Mrs. Charles Coyle and Mrs. Paul Hutchinson, and these women will serve a hot luncheon at noon. Inas- much as this circle is to hold but three sewing meetings during the year, the chairman earnestly wishes all those who possibly can to come, if only for an hour or two. The Skokie circle will give a card party at Community House Monday, November 21, at 2 o'clock for the pur- pose of providing a shoe fund for the Ridge Farm Preventorium for "Girls. It is hoped all interested will keep the date in mind. Tickets may be obtained by calling Mrs. C. R. Cady, Skokie circle secretary, at Winnetka 2732. Mrs. John C. Marshall of 112 Green Bay road will be hostess at the next meeting of the Lincoln circle which will be held at her residence on Monday, November 28. Bridge to Benefit Home A bridge party will be given by the Cambridge chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire in the home of Mrs. William Weldon, 1340 Greenwood avenue, at 2 o'clock, Tuesday, Novem- ber 15. Prizes will be given at each table. The proceeds will go into the fund for the British Old People's home at Riverside. Plan Dance at Georgian The Evanston chapter of Alpha Chi Omega is to give a subscription dance at the Georgian hotel the evening of Friday, November 18. The committee in charge is composed of Mrs. Robert Price, Mrs. Carl Weber, Miss Mar- jorie Roberts, Miss Loraine Barber, and Miss Phyllis Squires. College Dance in Kenilworth Students of the National Kindergar- ten and Elementary college will hold their sophomore informal in the Ken- ilworth club, Kenilworth, on Saturday evening, November 19.
