While the music north who have been more or less intimately acquainted with Mr. Dasch's organiza- tion, have been predicting that the concerts would be unusually pleasing this year, even they were not quite prepared for the pleasant sur- prise which accompanied the opening number. Last year's concerts were a splendid beginning for the re-vamped orchestra but, as fine as the programs were, they cannot compare with the opening con- cert which was presented last Monday afternoon. The many hours of practice together have had a decided effect upon the organization and have re- sulted in an orchestra of the finest of quality. There was in evidence throughout the concert an appreciation of spirit and theme that had the effect of establishing Mr. Dasch's orchestra upon a very high and very firm pedestal of favor with its auditors.
