This victory also makes New Trier the favorite over Evanston in the annual Thanksgiving day game which is to be played next week, Deer- field having recently triumphed over Evanston. adc hs VE Season of Victories The New Trier boys started the sea- son with a rush, defeating in quick succession Fenger by a score of 44 to 6; LaGrange, 24-0; Whiting, Ind. 18-14; and Roosevelt High of Chicago by a 39-0 score. In the Waukegan game on October 15, misfortune "won the toss" at every angle and, after a "heart-breaking" game, New Trier emerged holding the short end of a 7-6 score. Although dropping this tilt, New Trier was still credited by fans--without any attempt being made to detract from the credit due Waukegan--with having the ap- pearance of being the stronger of the two teams. New Trier is fortunate this season, as in the past few years, in having an excellent coaching staff. In each of their games they have evidenced a thorough knowledge of football in all of its departments, reflecting much credit upon Head Coach Walter Asch- enbach and other members of the ath- letic department. There is, however, another element which has contributed greatly to the success of the team and has largely accounted for the wealth of material which has been available throughout the present season.
