Two improvements were authorized in the business section, costing $18,000, one being a boiler house and some alterations at the plant of the Krauss Cleaning & Dyeing Co., at 1215 Wash- ington street, costing $6,000, and the other is a brick agency building which James Crabb is erecting at 728 Twelfth street, costing $12,000 and which is to be occupied by the National Biscuit Co., as a distributing center for the north shore. There were also permits for six re- modeling jobs, amounting to $9,749 and twelve for private garages, costing $5,400. The new residences authorized were at 1020 Chestnut street, Robert M. Sherritt, $61,000; 700 Forest avenue, C. W. Moody, $20,000; 340 Central avenue, David L. Golden, $17,000; In- dian Hill section, H. G. Phillips, $15,000; 1437 Forest avenue, B. C. Davidson, $13,000; 121 Central Park avenue, H. Hessiag, $9,000; 1220 Gre- gory avenue, James Crabb, $8,000; 2151 Thornwood avenue, Mrs. H. Harris, $6,000 In a recent issue it was stated that Raymond E. Thatcher had severed his connection with Smith & Brown, Inc., realtors of Wilmette and Winnetka, and joined the sales force of the Nash Sales Agency of Wianetka. E. E. Thatcher, father of Raymond, is still connected with the above firm of real- tors as manager of their Wilmette office. Glencoe Permits The permit for Glencoe's new $125,- 000 business and apartment building to be erected on Hazel avenue west of Vernon and issued the past month, brought the total of the twelve build- ing permits authorized during Novem- ber to $261,150, far in excess of the corresponding month last year when the total was only $155,455. Five new residences were started last month, the total cost of which is over $130,000; there was only one small remodeling job and permits were issued for five private garages, costing $5,150. Permits for the five houses were issued to the following persons: A. P. Kloepfer, two story frame and brick veneer, at 399 Jackson avenue, $18,000; I. A. Griffin, a frame and brick veneer at 1170 Elm Ridge drive, $19,000; E. IL. Pearson, brick veneer, at 205 Harbor street, $13,800; B. W. Cooke, two story tile .and frame, at 35 Lakewood 'drive, $55,000; Ira E. Fisher, two story brick and frame at 210 Hazel avenue, $30,000. Evanston's Co-Operative Company Reports Sales The Victor C. Carlson organization reports the sale of co-operative apart- ments in buildings which it is erecting in Evanston. Dr. C. H. Searle, presi- dent of the G. D. Searle company and vice president of the Shawnee Coun- try club, and C. H. L"Hommedieu, manager of Barnhart Bros. & Spindler, bought flats in the building at 1430 Chicago avenue. Harry M. Tingle, vice president of the Pearsons-Taft company, and Roland B. Nelson, sec- retary and treasurer of the Magill Weinsheimer company, bought apart- ments in the building under construc- tion at 1426 Chicago avenue.
