Winn. 694 Friendship Circle Party Helps Poor at Yuletide The Girls' Friendship circle gave a successful bunco party Tuesday eve- ning in the Neighborhood room of Community House, to raise money for its Christmas fund. Each year this club, composed of girls working in families in the. village, plays Santa Claus to some poor family, Each year a party is given to raise funds for this enterprise. At the party Tuesday, three prizes were awarded, Miss Mar- tha Harvey winning the first. Refresh- ments were served after the game, and the rest of the evening was spent dancing. All girls working in Winnetka fami- lies are invited and urged to attend the meetings of the circle. These are held at 8:30 every Tuesday evening, at Community House. The early part of the evening is spent in the gym- | nasium, following which there is a short business session in the Neigh- borhood room. The rest of the evening is given over to a social hour. The closing lecture took the form of a demonstration of a Camp Fire cere monial, Mrs. John Marshall's and Mrs. Guilford Windes' group participating in the program. Mrs. Elaine Grable, head of the Chi- cago Camp Fire Girls, conducted the ceremonial, assisted by Miss Farley. The girls in Mrs. Marshall's and and Mrs. Windes' group are, Dorothy Darby, Margaret French, Janet Mar- shall," Marjorie McLaren, Isabelle Mil- ton, and Jean Whitaker. All of the Camp Fire groups were present, at which time guardian certi- ficates were awarded by Miss Farley to those who have satisfactorily com- pleted the course. Business Girls' Club in Bridge Party Tuesday The Business Girls' club will give a bridge party at Community House Tuesday evening, December 20, to which each member will bring a guest. A diversion in the program last Tuesday evening, a "spell down in advertising," afforded no end of amusement. Instead of the old-fash- joned spelling bee, slogans used in connection with the advertisement of various articles were given, and the corresponding product wanted.
