Miss Lillian McKinstry Fitch, university student and resident of Wilmette, is the artist of the map which she has called "Ye Newe-fangled Mappe of Ye Olde College Towne-- Northwestern university." It embodies the same general scheme as the maps of London which have attracted attention during the past two years. Miss Fitch was prompted to the putting of Northwestern into pictures, she explains, by the pictorial maps of London and of various college campuses, which have been done by students at several schools in the east and middle west. Her piece of work is a finished pro- duct, which has been reproduced in colors and is being sold at various book stores in Evanston and Chicago. All the buildings and events are pic- tured which play part in the everyday round of campus life. There are the campus buildings, first, including the men's and women's quadrangles. The variety of events shown includes the university circus, hell week, co-eds in- dulging in sports in the campus meadow, the fire department armed with tear bombs, and women's week. Fountain square is labeled the "foun- tain of youth" and Sheridan road points the way to "Helen Maria." Fords as the chief means of trans- portation abound, but a street car is not forgotten. The hot-dog wagon stands near the gymnasium while its horse roams on the grassy parkway. William Bross Lloyd, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bross Lloyd of 830 Sheridan road, will return from An- tioch college soon. As his parents are in Europe, he will probably spend his vacation with the Fetcher family, 822 Mrs. Mark Fowler, state chairman of Indian Welfare, was the speaker at the meeting Monday of the North Shore Catholic Woman's league at the Winnetka Woman's club. She told the league members of the attitude of the various women's clubs toward the Indian question, and the work that the clubs have been accomplishing for the red-men, in bettering their con- ditions and helping them win their citizenship. Her talk was very suitably followed by a group of Indian songs given by Mrs. William Pollard, who has sung for the league at other times, and whose programs are always well received. The meeting ended with a social hour and the serving of tea. Mrs. E. C. Weissenberg and Mrs. John Janette were the hostesses. The board met at 1 o'clock and dis- cussed work to be undertaken this Christmas for poor families. Mrs. N. P. Andersen, the philanthropy chair- man, has charge of the distribution this week of Christmas stockings to the children at St. Joseph's orphanage in Chicago. GIVE COSTUME PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Mitten, 562 Hill terrace entertained thirty guests last Saturday evening at a dinner dance at their home. Each invitation, printed on wrapping paper, advised each guest that he would be expected to supply a costume for one of the other guests, specifying for which person the garb was to be de- signed. Mrs. Mitten was Miss Lucille Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Moore of Chicago. Henry Stein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M.
