H. Schell of 800 Elm street. gL Robert G. Heyda, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Heyda of 1139 Asbury ave- nue, returned Tuesday evening for the holidays. He attends Prof. Meil- lejohn's experimental college, which is connected with the University of Wisconsin. HERE FOR HOLIDAYS Mrs. Samuel Williams Earle, cor- responding secretary general of the D. A. R.,, arrived yesterday from her home at the Mayflower, in Washing- ton, D.C. to spend Christmas with her son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. S. Edwin Earle of 467 Linden avenue. The Earles have sold their home at 922 Tower road to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence lL. Doty, and are living at the Linden avenue address while building a new house on Golf lane and Hill road. ANNOUNCE MARRIAGE Frank A. Babbitt, formerly of Wil- mette, announces the marriage of his daughter, Helen Babbitt Allen, to George Mayhew Hicks, son of Mr. and Mrs. George 1. Hicks of Glencoe. Ten of the permits, according to Building Inspector A. B. Kreig, are for new residences, ranging in price from $10,500 to $45,000. Extensive re- modeling of five residences will cost $20,500; a new public garage, at 1010 Tower road is to be erected by the Hubbard Woods Garage at a cost of $6,000, and eight private garages cost- ing $10,200, were authorized. A permit for a two story brick veneer residence with attached garage to be erected on Ardsley road and costing $45,000 was issued to C. B. Watson. A two story frame residence costing $20,000 is to be erected by Julia W. Herdie, on Sunset road. Dan M. Rugg took out a permit for a $19,000 brick residence to be erected at 199 Birch street. R. C. Crosby is building a two story frame and brick veneer residence of seven rooms, on Scott avenue, costing $13,000. A permit was issued to Joseph Wolf for a two story frame residence of seven rooms, to be erected at 660 Elder lane, costing $13,000. A two story brick residence of six rooms and heated sleeping porch, to be erected at 1136 Cherry street at a cost of $12,000 was authorized in a per- mit issued to James George Sullivan. Oscar Anderson will also build a six room brick residence costing $12,000, on Edgewood lane. A two story frame and stucco resi- dence at 666 Elder lane and also cost- ing $12,000 was authorized in a permit issued to Joseph Wolf. Albert Busscher will build a two story frame and brick veneer residence of six rooms, costing $11,000, at 1487 Edgewood lane. A permit was issued to S. B. Hutch- ins for a two story frame and brick veneer residence of seven rooms at 418 Winnetka avenue, costing $10,500. Mary Noble Selects Wedding Attendants Miss Mary Elizabeth Noble, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. William Noble of 1010 Oak street, has selected the attendants for her wedding on De- cember 28, to Patrolman Carl F. Bishop of the Winnetka Police force. Her sister, Margaret, will be her maid of honor, and the bridesmaids will be her sister-in-law, Mrs. George Noble, and Mr. Bishop's sister, Miss Laura Bishop of Tomahawk, Wis. Little Miss Frances Kelley of Hubbard Woods will serve as flower girl. Mr. Bishop, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Bishop of Tomahawk, Wis., will have his brother, Lloyd, for his best man. The ushers will be George Noble of Chicago and J. T. Wipperfurth of Ravinia. The service will be read at 4 in the afternoon at Sacred Heart church, and will be followed by a reception at the Noble's home. Mrs. J. T. Wipperfurth of Ravinia gave a miscellaneous shower Thurs- day evening in honor of Miss Noble. William Weissenberg has returned home from St. Thomas Military acad- emy to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C.
