Meanwhile, the resolu- tion is being prepared for presentation to other Foreign Missions boards at the Foreign Missions conference which meets at Atlantic City in January. The presentation to the government will follow the replies from the missionaries on March 1. The courtesy and consideration with which the delegation from Winnetka was received in Boston cannot be overstated, it is explained. Time was freely given alike by secretaries and lay members of committees; a gra- cious hospitality was extended; a cor- diality that warmed every conference made the task delightful; and the or- ganization and association hallowed by memories from the first days of Ameri- can Foreign Missions made the dele- gation aware that it was standing on sacred ground. The appreciation of a visit by those of its members from a church over a thousand miles away was repeatedly expressed and beyond any doubt this carried much weight. Also the careful compilation by Mr. Simpson of helpful precedents and expert opinion was of inestimable value. It is easily possible that events will show that the Win- netka church has here taken the lead in a very significant piece of missionary and international history. At any rate its wisdom in having its resolution per- sonally presented in Boston is beyond all question.
