The an- nouncement was made at a supper party given by Mr. and Mrs. Helke Sunday evening. No date is set for the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. James G. Elder, who have resided at 625 Maple avenue, Wil- mette, are established in their new residence at 135 Church road, Win- netka. They have rented their house in Wilmette to friends of theirs, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Wold. Let's Resolve to Be "Sane" Drivers Says Motorist Head "Motorists who have chalked up a clean driving slate for 1927, and to those who have a demerit or two marked against them during that time, will do well to make a few sound resolutions for 1928 says a bulletin issued by the Automobile Club of Il- linois through its president, Si. Mayer. "Let your New Year's resolution in- clude some of the finer mannerisms of motoring, giving greater regard for the pedestrian and especially for the child. Resolve to make 1928 your best driving year--to help reduce the ac- cident toll by refraining from doing that which is responsible for its cause. "Resolve to be a 100% sane driver, a credit to motorism, and that you will not be a party to any accident if with- in your power to prevent it--also that you will do your level best to instruct and show your fellow motorists to do likewise," declared Mr. Mayer. "These and many other phases of safety can be incorporated into your manual of motorist resolutions, which if adopted and strictly conformed to can do much to make 1928 one of the safest since the advent of the auto- mobiles." North Shore Pioneer Is Taken by Death Wednesday Mrs. Frank Evert, mother of Mrs. Harry C. Enault, wife of Sergeant Enault of the Winnetka Police de- partment, died at her home, 6036 North Robey street, Chicago, last Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held Friday morning. GIVES UNIQUE PARTY Miss Lucille Blumenstock, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Jack Blumenstock of 495 Willow road, Winnetka, entertain- ed a number of her friends at a dinner party at her home on Thursday, De- cember 29. The party was a movie affair as the invitations were sent out as a studio letter, and each guest came dressed as his favorite star. The whole party carried out this idea very cleverly. Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. White, with their daughter, Marion, and son, Wal- ter, motored from Indianapolis, arriv- ing in Winnetka Christmas eve for a surprise visit with Mrs. White's sister, Mrs. William F. Kentnor of 310 Wood- land avenue. The Whites left Wed- nesday to return home. --Cn Miss Helen Parsons of 518 Hawthorn lane celebrated the holidays by giving a bridge luncheon at her home Thurs- day.
