John Stahl! never fails to insert all the little hu- man interest touches which make sto- ries seem real and not the figment of somebody's imagination. Thomas Meighan has played 1n underworld stories before, but he has never had a crook vehicle as powerful or vivid as "The City Gone Wild," Paramount's new melodrama, which will be presented on Sunday. "Get Your Man" with Clara Bow as the featured star will be the at- traction on Monday and Tuesday. "The Wizard," playing on Wednes- day only, is based on the sensational French play, "Balaco," by Gaston Leroux and is the story of an eccen- tric scientist who humanizes an ape to do his bidding and to revenge him for fancied wrongs. Thrills, mystery, suspense and a fine love interest hold the audience every moment during the showing of the picture, while the com- pany relief furnished by the two dar- kies in the role of house servants brings much laughter which relieves the tension of the more sombre moments of this picture. Colleen Moore, vivacious First Na- tional star, comes Thursday and Fri- day in her latest John McCormick comedy-drama, "Her Wild Oat." An all-star cast supports Miss Moore in this picture. Marshall Neilan, famous director, who made some of the star's outstanding hits, di- rected "Her Wild Oat," adding in- VAR "CONTINUOUS 2 TO 12--COME ANY TIME" SITY THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY A GREAT SHOW--BRING THE CHILDREN HELENE COSTELLO WESLEY BARRY--JAMES MURRAY IN THE NEW METRO PRODUCTION "In Old Kentucky" "THE COLLEGIANS" IN THE LAST CAMPUS COMEDY OF SERIES VARSITY ORCHESTRA--GIANT ORGAN COMING MONDAY "THE GORILLA" NEW EVANSTON "HOME OF THE SPOKEN DRAMA" NOW PLAYING -- THE -- Ji, YANSTON PLAYERS With MARGARET FULLER and CHARLES GEORGE in THE WESTERN PREMIERE OF 'THE GOSSIPY SEX' A NEW LAUGH-A-MINUTE PLAY EVENINGS at 8:15--PRICES, 50c - 75c - $1.00 MATINEES, WED. and SAT---ALL SEATS 25c - 50c NEXT WEEK "Square Crooks" numerable comedy touches for which he is so renowned. "Her Wild Oat" shows Miss Moore as a little lunch wagon owner who takes her life's savings and spends every cent on one week of luxury and thrills at an exclusive seacoast resort. Her hoped-for splash in society is only a ripple, however, and she is persuaded by a newspaper reporter friend to obtain recognition by im- personating a duchess. After a day of worried glory, the pseudo duchess is exposed, and Colleen's troubles he- gin all over again. COMMUNITY HOUSE "The Thirteenth Hour" and "Shang- hai Bound" are the two pictures selec- ted for showing at Winnetka Com- munity House on Tuesday and Fri- day of next week. "The Thirteenth Hour" is a mystery drama of intense interest and presents Lionel Barry- more and the dog, Napoleon, in the leading roles. Richard Dix is the star in "Shanghai Bound."
