B "Acid Drops" and "Wappin' Wharf," the first a farce by Gertrude Jennings, the second a comedy by Charles S. Brooks, will be presented on Friday and Saturday evenings of this week in the New Trier High School auditorium by students of the freshman and sopho- more classes. One unusual feature of these performances is that for "Wap- pin' Wharf" there are two casts. On Friday night the play will be presented by one cast, and on Saturday night by the other. Following is the cast for Friday: Patch-Eye, John Atwood; The Duke, Philip van Ammon; Captain, Jack Howe; Red Joe, Bob Pearse; Darlin', Betty Johnson; Betsey, Betty Bayliss; Old Meg, Rosemary Ellison; Sailor Captain, Bruce Kenyon; Sailors, John Guthrie, Robert Draper and Gordon Cutler. The same play will be given Saturday by the second cast: Patch-Eye, Solon Reily; The Duke, Kingsley Karnopp; Captain, Park Chamberlain; Red Joe, Dorrance Hygaard; Darlin', Jean Hall; Betsey, Jane Copthorne; Old Meg, Isa- bel Macalister; Sailor Captain, Billy Anderson; Sailors, David Riddle, Nor- man Ross and Tom Carsen. Arrange Series of Talks on "Vocational Guidance" A series of lectures for boys on "Vo- cational Guidance," with accompany- ing discussion periods, will be opened at New Trier High school next week by Dr. J. W. F. Davies of Winnetka. The programs will be attended by all Juniors of the High school and will be featured from time to time by talks by authorities upon various industries. The girls are also to have a similar series, the students being divided into two sections, one each for the boys and girls, as their problems and voca- tional interests are entirely different. Both series are being arranged under the supervision of the Personnel de- partment of the school. A survey 15 to be conducted in the near future of the types of industries in which interest is shown by the pupils and stress will be laid upon these in the lectures arranged. Carl Sandburg to Speak at the Kenilworth Club The Kenilworth club held a very successful Stag dinner party last Fri- day evening. Bridge was played dur- ing the evening. Jule Peterson, former president of the club, had charge of the party. This Friday evening the club is holding a dinner dance with Mrs. Leslie McArthur, Mrs. James Starr and Mrs. Paul Bradley as hostesses. This is the annual Valentine party and there is a special menu, special table decora- tions and favors. The entertainment committee of the club announces that on February 24, it will present Carl Sandburg. Mr. Sandburg is a poet and lecturer of international reputation and he will give a program of poetry, music and philosophy long to be remembered. Members are asked to take note of the date.
