Girls to Give Banquet for Mothers A Mothers' and Daughters' banquet will be given by the Girls' club of New Trier High school in honor of their mothers on Thursday, February 16, in the mess hall of the school. The eve- ning's program will be {featured by special entertainment and speeches. Mu Iota chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, national honorary musical sorority, which has many Winnetka members, gave a concert Sunday afternoon last at the Cordon for the benefit of its scholarship fund. Break Ground for A partment Houses in "No Man's Land" Ground was broken Wednesday of this week for the new $300,000 im- provement in "No Man's Land," where the same interests which built the Teatro del Lago theater and the stores in Spanish court are erecting a three- story brick apartment building and a two-story business and apartment structure. The buildings are to be completed by July 1, it is said. The apartment building will be erected at the corner of Spanish court and Tenth street. It will be of brick, three stories high and of very pleasing architectural design, comprising twelve five-room apartments. The other building, also of brick, will be located on Spanish court, oppo- site the theater. On the first floor will be twelve store rooms, and on the sec- ond, twenty small apartments, com- prising one, two and three rooms, each with kitchenette and bath. Walther Leagues to Meet in Wilmette February 19 The next regular quarterly meeting of the North Shore Zone of the Wal- ther league of young people will be held Sunday, February 19, in St. John's Lutheran church, Wilmette. There will be meetings in the afternoon and evening comprising discussions of the league's work in this zone, and sup- per will be served at the church. The Rev. O. A. Geiseman of Grace Lu- theran church, Oak Park, will speak at the evening service on the subject, "The Hand of God in History." Mrs. Noble Gillett, Roslyn road, Kenilworth, entertained the Wednes- day bridge club last week.
