"Let er Go Gallagher," with Harri- son Ford and Junior Coghlan, is the feature for this Saturday. "The Fourflusher" and "Silk Legs" are the co-featured films for Sunday. The first mentioned boasts of a pleas- ant plot revolving about a smart-aleck in business. George Lewis, one of the main reasons why the "Collegian" series has proven so popular, and Marion Nixon are the stars. "Silk Legs" is said to be one of Madge Bellamy's best. Madge is a hosiery drummer. "The Gorilla," opening the coming week, is as you might guess, a mystery drama. Charlie Murray and Fred Kelsey, as a pair of dumb detectives, make it well worth while seeing. It is listed by the critics as one of the best for the month in which it was first presented. Olive Borden is cast in the stellar role of "Come Into My House," which with "Wickedness Preferred" is sched- uled for Wednesday. Lew Cody and Aileen Pringle are co-starred in "Wickedness Preferred." Adolphe Menjou's "Serenade," if not his best, is at least almost his best. Adolphe deviates from his typical well tailored characterization and appears as a Viennese composer. Evicted for not paying his rent he meets Kathei- ine Carver and, inspired, writes a masterpiece in light opera which is produced and is well liked by the public. Adolphe starts "stepping out" and Katherine brings him back to the fold. Katherine aids materially in the success of the film. Come here on your Sleigh ride Mrs. Arnd Plays in Week's New Evanston Show, 'Spite Corner' With Mrs. Blanche Bannister Arnd, prominent in Evanston amateur dra- matic circles, playing Mrs. Douhett, a character part which she develops to the full, the Evanston Players are pre- senting Frank Craven's "Spite Corner" at the New Evanston this week. "Spite Corner" is a rural comedy and like most rural comedies gives all the members of the cast good parts, most of them character parts of an exceedingly bucolic nature. Anne Dere, who has consistently starred in whatever role she has essayed, again proves her worth to the company as the Victorian Ann Cool- idge, a quaint old maid who wears the clothes of an age happily long past. Lew Welsh as Eben Gooch, a town character, could scarcely be improved upon and George Pembroke, hiding behind a false chin and a cardboard nose, is an excellent country butcher as Mr. Dana. Our dashing friend, Charles George, plays the male lead, John Lattimer, opposite Margaret Fuller as Elizabeth Dean. John, it seems, has left his sweetheart--Elizabeth, of course--to go to the city to make his fortune. Five long years have passed and to- ward the last John has not written to Beth. His coming back, broke; her disap- pointment because he does not imme- diately crush her to his manly buzzum; her consequent burst of resentment because he has not written to her consistently; the village boycott against her because she will not sell her corner store "for the good of the town," and her subsequent reconcil- iation with John furnish the action. Beatrice Leiblie as Madame Flor- ence does all that she can within the limits of her part; Karl Way, the com- pany's director, plays the small part of Nathan Lattimer excellently. C. ..B Screen Version of "Anna Karenina" at the Varsity "Love," one of the outstanding pictures of the year with John Gilbert and Greta Garbo in the lead roles, makes its appearance at the Varsity theater next Monday. It is based on the famous novel "Anna Karenina," by Count Leo Tolstoi. While not by any means "Anna Karenina," "Love" is nevertheless a brilliant production. John and Greta, as might be expected, do their "stuff" according to Hoyle and even better, During the latter part of this week, the Varsity is presenting "Under the Tonto Rim" with Mary Brian as the star. "What Price Glory" at Community House Friday "The Rawhide Kid," a film based on Peter B. Kyne's story, "The Lion and the Lamb," will be the feature produc- tion at Community House next Tues- day. A Buster Brown comedy will be the added attraction. "What Price Glory," the war picture that has attracted such favorable at- tention and comment during the past few months, will be the Friday bill. GLENCOE MOVIES "Spoilers of the West" will be the feature part of next Friday afternoon's program at the Glencoe Union church.
