March 3, 1928 WINNETKA 21 Maine Township Men Swamp New Trier's Swimming Entries New Trier High school dropped a swimming meet to Maine Township High school at New Trier Wednesday, the seniors meeting defeat by the score of 35 to 20, and the juniors com- ing to disaster, 31 to'19. The invaders quickly jumped into the lead which they retained through- out the contest when Kleimer of Maine took the 100 yard swim, and followed this by winning the 40 yard event a few minutes later. The breaststroke went to New Trier on Rogers' first place, but the lads from Desplaines proved too fast for the home men in the backstroke. Granstrom and En- chelmayer, both of the Indian Hill aggregation finished one, two, in the fancy diving. Both the relay and med- ley events were sent into the Maine colymn. Larner took the junior forty yard event for New Trier but it was the only first place taken by New Trier. Murphy won the 100 yard swim, Swanson finished first in the breast- stroke and the backstroke, while H. Swanson, a younger brother, carried off first honors in the diving. It is estimated that more than 150 Scouts will receive ad- vancement awards on this night. Dr. G. B. Frances McElroy, regis- trar, National Kindergarten and Ele- mentary college, and Miss Frances ern of the supervision department, are attending the meeting of the Na- tional Education association which is being held in Boston this week. Spoke XII of the Wilmette Presby- terian church met with Mrs. Herbert Weld of 315 Sunset road, Winnetka Tuesday. Following the business meeting at which the mite boxes were turned in, luncheon was served. and the afternoon was spent in sewing for the Visiting Nurse's association. BAHA'L LECTURE Next Sunday at the Studio of Louis Bourgeois, 536 Sheridan road, Wilmette, Dr. Albert Vail will give the address. His subject will be: "The. Law of Spiritual Rebirth." The hour of meet- ing will be 3 o'clock. These meetings are constructive and especially intended for the public, it is explained. Each Tuesday, at 2 P. M., at 112 Linden avenue, Wilmette, a class for the study of the Baha'i Revelation is held for the benefit of inquirers of religious truth. Literature may be obtained and con- sulted at these Tuesday classes. Roy C.
