March 10, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 57 Boy Scouts From the scribe of Troop 9, Adam Bauer, comes the report that his troop held three hikes during the month of February. At a recent Junior Leaders meeting held at the home of Scout George Schopin, a merit system was arranged in which the Scouts doing the most for the benefit of the troop during the next few months, will be sent to camp at the expense of the troop. * kk Troop 5 of the Wilmette Presby- terian church, had a full program of activities during the month of Febru- ary, including a trip to the North- western Observatory, which was at- tended by 22 Scouts. * kx John Gilroy, scribe of Troop 4, re- ports that Oscar Anderson was elected Senior Patrol Leader at their last meeting and that Walter Robinson has been added to the membership of the troop. oer ik k The Junior Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 8, Edward Kunz, Jr. reports that Ray Jones and Clyde Warble have been added to the membership of Troop 8. do tole aie / Troop 13 of Kenilworth, according to a report of Paul T. Troop 13 has organized the Bat Patrol with Jack Howe as Patrol Leader. * Among the achievements of Troop 23 of Glencoe, during the month of February, is the fact that they had a supper, a Father and Son get-together, with no speeches. Three new Scouts have been added to the membership of the troop during the last month. One of the objectives of the troop dur- ing March, is for every Scout to ad- vance in rank by March 16. ® kx x Allan Ingram, scribe of Troop 22, reports that their troop is decorating the Scout room and are earnestly working for a good showing at the Area-wide Court on March 16. x x x Edward Frankel, scribe of Troop 24, reports that their troop is starting a campaign to enlist new boys in their membership.
