March 24, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 15 "Sea Plus," W.A. A. Show, to Be Staged in Evanston Mar. 28 The first of four performances of the ninth annual musical comedy, "Sea Plus," which is sponsored by the Woman' Athletic association of North- western university, will be held at the Haven school, Evanston, Wednesday, March 28, at 8:15 P. M. Friday eve- ning, March 30, and Saturday after- noon and evening, March 31, are the other possible opportunities for seeing "Sea Plus." This year's production promises to compete with all previous W. A. A. shows, and, although composed of a cast of amateurs, it bids fair to equal most professional musical comedies in music, snappy lines, choruses, cos- tumes, scenery, and plot. Owing to the illness of Theodore Cloak, who was coaching the show, the production is now under the able direction of Joe Bren, of the Joe Bren Theatrical com- pany, Chicago, and a former resident of Winnetka. His guarantee of a finely polished work is backed by his success in other undertakings such as the finishing of "The Wooden Ki- mono," two scenes of "Good News," and an act of "Hit the Deck." The musical numbers are especially attractive this year, and the scores have been professionally printed and arranged for the average player. "Gobs of Work," by Anne Phelps, "Dream Girl," by Ruth Hlavaty, and "Song of the Apaches," by Ruth Hlavaty are the featured numbers of the show. The Show Board, composed largely of Northshore girls, among whom are Marcia Converse of Winnetka, general manager, and Irene Baehr of Glencoe, assistant business manager, has worked hard to make a show that will please and entertain all who may attend.
