Not only will it mark the close of the current concert season for the players, but it will also mark the final appearance with them of Director Harold E. Knapp, their organizer and their director for the last sixteen years. Prof. Knapp will leave Northwestern university at the close of the school year, where he has been director of its violin department for 36 years, to retire from teaching and orchestra direction and to make his home in Florida. He organized the orchestra in 1912, beginning with students at the School of Music. Two pianists, Prof. Arne Oldberg and Miss Hilda Edwards, will be as- sisting artists at the season's final con- cert at the Evanston Country club. Their numbers will include a new composition for two pianos and or- chestra written by Prof. Oldberg dur- ing his sojourn last summer in Estes Park. It will have its initial Evanston performance.
