April 21, 1928 WINNETKA TALK' 57 N. U. Debaters to Make Extensive Tour of Country Two Northwestern university deba- ters, Stanford Clinton and D. K. Car- ter, left Evanston this Friday on a speaking tour which will bring them into competition with six leading eastern colleges and universities, This debating tour will conclude Northwest- ern's season during which Purple speakers have traveled 11,000 miles and have passed through half the states of the union. The Northwestern debaters will argue the Baumes Laws of New York and will uphold both the negative and the affirmative of the question: "Re- solved, that the eighteenth amendment should be repealed immediately." This team will debate Harvard university, Cambridge, Mass, April 26; Bates college, Lewiston, Maine, April 24; Holy Cross college, Worcester, Mass., April 29; Fordham university, New York City, May 2; Johns Hopkins university, Baltimore, Maryland, May 3, and Howard university, Washington, D. C, May 4. Stanton Clinton, manager of the trip, was a member of the debate teams which defeated speakers from the universities of Michigan, Wiscon- sin, Ohio State, Kansas, and a repre- sentative team from Great Britain. D. K. Carter has had three years debate experience and is business manager of the Forensic Council, Northwestern university, GRAEME PLAYERS COMING Wilmette Rebekah lodge, No. 610, I. O. O.
