Dr. John Herman Randall of New York City, speaker on the well known World Unity platform and head of the World Unity Foundation, will speak on "Religion for the New Age." Ruhi Effendi Afnan of Haifa, Pales- tine, grandson of the world-renowned Abdu'l-Baha, is now on tour in this country, where he has spoken to large student groups in many colleges and universities, will have for the subject of his address "Baha'v'llah: The Prophet of the New Age." Mrs. Ella Goodall Cooper of San Francisco will be the chairman. SONS OF REVOLUTION The Illinois society, Sons of the American Revolution, of which there are a great many Winnetka and north shore members, celebrated the anni- versary of Lexington day April 19, 1775, by an annual banquet at the Union League club Thursday, April 19. Evan A. Evans, judge of the United States Circuit Court of Ap- peals, spoke on "The Alien and His Contribution." * The annual congress of the national society meets at Wash- ington May 21-23. The Illinois chap- ter will send delegates. Joseph Riddle Wins First Place in N. T. Photography Contest First place in the photography con- test conducted by the Lens club of New Trier High school recently under the direction of H. H. Herron, faculty sponsor of the club, was awarded by the judges last week to Joseph Riddle, 995 Oak street, Winnetka. The pic- ture, an unusual one, was taken just east of Sunset Ridge Country club located west of Winnetka and is fea- tured on the cover page of this is- sue. Second prize in the contest was awarded to Richard Rossman for a photograph "snapped" just off the Glenview road near the North Shore Golf club. An engraving of this pic- ture was carried in the March 24 issue. Honorable mention was given to David Riddle, a brother of Joseph. More than a hundred pictures were entered in the contest, many of them of outstanding quality, and the judges experienced considerable difficulty in making their selections. The judges were B. E. Christensen of Hattstrom and Sanders of Evanston, Miss Kath- erine Murphy of the New Trier fac- ulty, and H. A. Armstrong of Lloyd Hollister Inc.
