May 12, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 63 Break Ground for New Addition to Kenilworth School The contract for the erection of the new addition to the Joseph Sears school in Kenilworth was awarded to the Charles E. Anderson company of Chicago by the Kenilworth school board, it was announced last week. Ground was broken for the new addition by. the Reiss Construction company of Evanston, to: whom the sub-contract for excavation has been let by the Anderson company on Tues- day of last week and material progress had been made before nightfall. Two large trees were removed from the site of the new addition, the power shovel had "dug itself in" and progress had been made in the wrecking of the one-room wing on the east side of the old building which is to be removed to make way for the addition. The new addition to the school will front on. Abbottsford road, extending at right angles to the old structure from the south end of the school yard to the Skokie ditch on the north. It will be architecturally harmonious with the old structure and will house the kindergarten and the first five grades of the school.
