The following trans- actions were closed during the last month: The twelve-room frame residence on a lot 135x215 located at 1316 Davis street, formerly the residence of Mary Llewellyn, was sold by J. A. Friedlund to Dr. W. M. Muchow of 1011 Grove street, Evanston. The eight-room brick residence of Richard G. Breeden, 2720 Grant street, Evanston, on a lot 75x150, was sold to Melville Quincy of 6003 Winthrop avenue, Chicago. The eight-room brick residence on a lot 50x183 at 2748 Eastwood avenue, Evanston, was sold by Floyd D. Mas- ters to Henry L. Webster of 4237 North Hermitage avenue, Chicago. The eight-room frame residence at 1217 Judson avenue, Evanston, on a lot 33x200 belonging to Charles H. Mendsen, was sold to Ashur TU. Wetherbee of 418 Dempster street, Evanston. The eight-room stucco residence on a lot 53x180 located at 2754 Broadway, Evanston, was sold by Charles H. Franklin to George H. Gonsalves The six-room brick residence on a lot 70x50 located at 3108 Colfax street, Iivanston, was sold by C. E. Blomgren, Jr., to Allene Grant and Bernice Gos- sett. The vacant property 47x145 located at the northeast corner of Garrison and Isabella streets, Evanston, was sold by Mae Kirsch to Thomas H. Lit- vin, who expects to build a residence immediately. The vacant property 40x145, West Front, on Lincolnwood drive, just north of Payne street, Evanston, was sold by Hulda M. Grohman and Viola S. Grohman to William Y. Serrin. The nine-room brick residence on a lot 100x77 at 94 Essex road, Winnetka, was sold by George H. Gonsalves to Charles H. Franklin, formerly of 2754 Broadway, Evanston. The eight-room frame residence on a lot 80x175 located at 136 Beach road, Glencoe, was sold by Arthur B. Jones, treasurer of the Chicago North West- ern railroad, to Waldo Hawxhurst, formerly of 139 Hawthorne avenue, Glencoe. Hokanson & Jenks, . Kenilworth Shows Huge Gain in April Building With several important exceptions, suburban towns in the metropolitan area showed a loss in building permits for last month, according to the build- ing survey department of W. Straus and company. Wilmette and Glencoe showed a drop while Winnetka was in the gain column. Kenilworth stepped into fast com- pany with a monthly gain of 3,009 percent. Niles Center made a substan- tial gain of 240 percent, La Grange a gain of 166 percent, while Whiting, with a small volume, made a gain of 526 percent. The traditional rivals, Evanston and Oak Park, both sustained losses al- though Evanston's loss for the month was far larger than that of Oak Park. Evanston, with a volume of $507,000, made a loss of 78 percent while Oak Park, with a volume of $930,251, showed a comparative loss of 18 per- cent. Public utilities in Illinois produced 581,036,000 kilowatt-hours of electric- ity during March, 1928, an increase of 7 percent over March, 1927.
