Granada Presents One and Only Joe Frisco in Person One of the cleverest entertainers and most fascinating characters on the American stage today comes to the Granada theater, starting Saturday, May 19, when the original Joe Frisco, identified by his derby hat, long cigar and a pair of rapid moving feet will come in Charles Kaley's "Rare Per- fume," a special production with a large cast of stars. Frisco, an international humorist, and the pride of Broadway for many years, has an act entirely different from his last but which still features his eccentric use of the hat, and his long cigar, and is now augmented by some of the cleverest monologue pat- ter that has been heard by the public for many a month. Frisco is another one of the great stars that have been promised on the spring and summer schedule of Marks Bros. and he will be followed the following week by another great Broadway favorite. "Honor Bound," the film-fare, fea- tures George O'Brien, who, for the sake of honor, goes through all the hells of a prison mining camp to pro- tect a heartless, selfish woman, played by Estelle Taylor. Alfred Green, who directed the play, went to Alabama to study prison and mining camp condi- tions so that George might suffer under realistic conditions. Another special arrangement of Movietone subjects comes to follow the success of this device which has given the news reel a voice and repro- duces all sounds of the world's great events. A special arrangement of sub- jects has been made, some of them topical, all of them of an interesting nature. Vitaphone remains on the bill and the long awaited Florentine Choir is one of the subjects, while the other is a comedy skit of the type which has gained popularity with Vitaphone fans. Dick Barthelmess married Mrs. Jessica Sergeant in Reno, Nev, on April 20. The bride is the divorced wife of Stewart Sergeant, New York broker and clubman.
