May 26, 1928 WINNETKA: TALK Crosby Constructs Three Residences in Hubbard Woods R. E. Crosby, of Crosby and Mec- Kendry, 566 Center street, Winnetka, has just completed three of the many new residences which dot the Hubbard Woods section this spring. The three homes are all in the four- teen hundred block on Scott avenue, each being located on a lot 50 by 159 feet and wooded. One was built for George H. Pat- tison, of 204 Golf terrace, Wilmette, and the other two, for the market. One of the latter has just been sold to Wil- liam L. Ayers, of Chicago. The Pattison residence is located at 1449 Scott avenue, and is now occupied by the new owner. A cream colored pressed brick was used in its con- struction, which, together with the French type of architecture chosen, makes of it a most attractive home. It comprises six rooms, two bath rooms, a combination breakfast and dining room and a two car brick ga- rage. The English type house, built at 1453 Scott avenue and just sold to Mr. comprises seven rooms, two large bath rooms, a huge stone fire place to com- plete the comfy interior appearance and many other attractive features, including a large arched screened porch off the living room. The main entrance is made unusually attractive with a design requiring a liberal use of stone. An iron stair railing is used on the {front stairs. English rough finish plaster harmo- nizes with the interior plan. Mr. Crosby has also just completed, ready for inspection, a red brick Geor- gian colonial, at 1443 Scott avenue. This is a seven room house with break- fast nook, two large bath rooms, one finished in fawn and black and one in cream and blue. There is a two-car brick garage. Mrs. R. L.
