The Golden Text was from Psalms 66:8, 9, "O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard: which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved." Among the citations which com- prised the lesson-sermon was the fol- lowing from the Bible: "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens" {It Cor. 5:1). The lesson-sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and, Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "The Science of being shows it to be impossible for infinite Spirit or Soul to be in a finite body or for man to have an intelligence sep- arate from his Maker" (p. 3009). Elizabeth Kelley Heads New Trier Girls' Club The election held among the girls of the New Trier High school to secure Girls' Club officers for the coming year resulted in the choice of Elizabeth Kelley as president to succeed Jane Burrill who filled the office this past year. Martha Tencher was named vice-president to succeed Mabel An- derson. Other officers are Margaret Gordon, secretary, to fill the place left vacant by Elizabeth Eberhardt, and Martha FEtzbach, treasurer, to continue in that office. WIN PRIZE FOR PLAY New Trier entered a one-act play, "The Scales and the Sword," in a Drama contest held recently at Hull House, Chicago. In the finals of the contest, held last Friday evening, the play given by New Trier won the first prize for diction. BARRY | Cleaning and Repairing University 5712 Robert Atwood New President of Young People's Society The Young People's society of the Congregational church held a business meeting and election of officers for the coming year, on Sunday, May 20, at the home of Bob Doty, 922 Sheridan road. The following were elected: Robert Atwood, president; Edith Clerk, vice-president; Alan Hoagland, treas- urer; Emily Banning secretary; and Margaret Washburne, chairman of the program committee. The present officers, tinue to serve for the rest of the year, are: Isabel Milton, president; Mary Alice Stoddard, secretary; Gould Davies, treasurer; and Margaret Hud- dle, chairman of the program commit- tee. Two very interesting programs are being planned for the next two meet- ings.
