50. WINNETKA TALK June 2, 1928 New Trier's Junior trackmen were beaten on their own field by La Grange May 23. The meet was more closely contested than the lopsided score, 52% to 24%, would indicate. The visitors cop~ed all the firsts except in the 100-yard dash which MacIntosh won for New Trier. Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Hamm, 517 Sheridan road, Kenilworth, are leav- ing next week for a trip to Germany, sailing June 9, to return some time in August. In addition to the officers, who in- clude Mrs. Frederick Fisher of Lake Bluff, president; Mrs. C. D. Ewer of Wilmette, recording secretary, and Mrs. Frank W. Kingsley of Evanston, corresponding secretary. Those newly selected to serve on the board are: Mrs. John W. Douglas of the Bar- rington Garden club, Mrs. O. W. Dynes of the Hinsdale club, Mrs. Charles Allen Grier of Oak Park and River Forest, Mrs. V. K. Spicer of the Lake Forest club, and Mrs. Fred Court of West Chicago. Chrysler Tax Off 20 FINISH AT GARRETT Biblical Institute's 71st Commencement Comes Next Week Garrett Biblical institute will cele- brate its annual spring convocation and seventy-first annual commence- ment, June 3 to 6. Twenty men will be graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Divinity. Halford Edward Luccock, contributing' editor of the Christian Advocates, and professor-elect of Yale Divinity school, will preach the baccalaureate sermon. The service will be at the First Metho- dist Episcopal church, Sunday morning, June 3. Tuesday, June 5, will be Alumni day, and at 10:45 o'clock Dr. Luccock will address the Chicago Methodist Preachers meetings in the Charles Macaulay Stuart chapel. The alumni business meeting will be held in the afternoon. From 4 to 6 o'clock the same after- .|noon the annual reception by Presi- dent Eiselen and Mrs. Eiselen to alumni and other friends of Garrett will be held. This will be followed by the alumni dinner at the First Metho- dist church, at which the speaker will be Adelbert Seamans, '07, his subject, "The Ministry of Art to the Spiritual Life." All addresses are open to the public, and visitors are welcome to visit regu- lar class sessions Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of commencement week.
