Board Notes At the regular monthly meeting of the North Shore Real Estate Board at the Glengables Tea Room, in Glencoe, there were present thirty-seven mem- bers. Six prospective members were guests. Applications of John D. Austin of J. D. Austin & Co., and Jules Dixon of Jules Dixon & Co., for Active Member- ship and Margaret E. Byren of Hark- ness & Byren, Robert E. Goss of E. Sawyer Smith and Christy Brown, Inc., and R. B. Webster of Heinsen Realty Co., for Active Associate Membership, approved by the Membership Commit- tee, were accepted by the board. President Dodds reported that at the get-together held by the Evanston Real Estate Board for the Rogers Park Real Estate Board and the North Shore board, there were eighteen north shore members present, these being: Lloyd C. Ayres, F. Coleman Burroughs, Lewis T. Dodds, A. R. Eddington, W. G. Stacey, Alder R. Tighe, Mrs. Doro- thy E. Wink, A. J. Woodcock, Robert L. Wyatt, Deane Dodson, J. Willis Jackson, Phillip V. Jewell, Mrs. Jane G. McDowell, Charles I. Pennoyer, Lewis N. Place, Harold R. Vant, William J. McDowell, Mathilda Spak. A discussion about signs proved in- teresting, Mr. Vant of the Sign Com- mittee showed pictures of lots on which there were from 15 to 30 brokers' for sale signs and one picture showing how the same lots would look if there was but one sign which read "SEE YOUR REALTOR." Ole- wine, Wilmette builder, for a brick veneer residence, at 626 Forest ave- nue, for John O. McCue, and costing $17,000. Another of the May permits was for a $14,000 brick veneer residence which James Laing is building at 224 Greenleaf avenue. Fourteen thousand dollars is also the cost of a brick veneer residence for which a permit was issued to Carl H. Johnson, who is building for L. G. Wistor, at 1512 Maple avenue. A permit was issued to Otto A. Schulz for a brick veneer residence and garage to cost $11,000 which he is building for E. C. Hildreth, at 2006 Beechwood avenue.
