Portraits of Prominent Chicagoans Go on Tour The four portrait paintings of prom- | inent Chicagoans which have recently | been hung in the southwestern branch | | | of the Chicago Chamber of Commerce, recently Atlanta, Ga., will | | go on tour in other southern cities, it opened at is now planned. The porerals are of Dr. Frank G. Logan, Edward B. But- ler, Benjamin F. Ferguson and George B. Harris. The Atlanta Georgian pub- lished the portrait of Mr. Ferguson, who it will be remembered left a mil- lion dollars to Chicago, to be used in the erection of statuary to beautify its parks and boulevards. These four portraits were lent by the Art Insti- tute from its permanent collection. Other paintings which were sent from Chicago at the same time con- sist of "Lhe Luxembourg Gardens," by Frederic Tellander, "Spanish Fishing Boat," by Arthur F. Ryder, and two landscapes by Louis O. Griffith, all Chi- cago artists. The purpose of establish- ing the Chicago branch in Atlanta is primarily one of good will with a view of establishing not only closer com- mercial relations, but of spreading the gospel of good art as well. Dr. and Mrs. Frank Cheseman of Kenilworth have returned from their motor trip east and are living at the Orrington hotel in Evanston. They stopped at Providence, R. VISIT SHORE JULY 27 | Annual Picnic and Pageant to Be Com- bined on Inspection Day The one big invitation day when [Arden Shore opens every department | of its work to the public and extends cordial welcome for investigation, is [scheduled this year for tomorrow at |the Lake Bluff fresh air camp. It has been decided to combine the annual picnic with the annual pageant which customarily marks the close of the summer camp. There will be no elaborate program this summer, how- ever. The children and some of the | adults in camp will present three little | playlets--an Indian story, "Robin | Hood," and a nature study sketch. | Campers and staff workers are busy | devising the costumes out of scraps {of things donated by friends and the costumes which have been given. There will be songs and folk dances supplementing these. The program will last for less than an hour, it is announced. Members of the staff will report the nature and results of their work. There will be the usual picnic luncheon with which visitors will pro- vide themselves. Coffee and tea will be served by the camp directors. All those interested in the work at Arden Shore, the largest inland fresh air camp in the country, are given cordial invitation to visit the camp that day.
