Rosenberg's--Second Floor BHEGEHDLEIEHELLLLEEEPEBHEEE0E Christian Science Churches "Soul" was the subject of the les- son-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, Sunday, August 12. The golden text was from Isaiah 61:10, "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God." Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon was the following from the Bible: "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy loving kind- ness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee" (Psalms 63:1-3). The lesson-sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "The evidence of the existence of Spirit, Soul, is palable only to spiritual sense, and is not apparent to the material senses, which cognize only that which is the opposite of Spirit" (p. 359). CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICE "Mind" will be the subject at the services of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Winnetka, Sunday morn- ing, August 19, at 11 o'clock. The Sunday school convenes at 9:35 o'clock. Mrs. William Erskine Poulson, 848 Foxdale, returned last Wednesday from an extended trip through Cali- fornia and the Grand Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Netterhausen of 701 Buena avenue have been occupying Mrs. Poulson's home during her ab- sence. Mail Application Blanks Soon for Illini Grid Games Anxious to make the path of the football fan to the Indiana, Northwest- ern, and Ohio State games in the Uni- versity of Illinois stadium this fall as easy as possible, the football ticket office is preparing to mail out 50,000 application blanks and information leaflets, not only to interested alumni but to thousands of other fans. No applications will be received until this material is mailed out which will be the latter part of August. This information will also be sent to banks which find that their patrons appreciate having it available, and to sports editors, whose friends often ask them how to book seats for the big games at Illinois. The office on re- quest will place any name on its permanent mailing list to receive this material annually, but if blanks are not available an ordinary letter will suffice. The Illini managers estimate that at least 30,000 tickets for each big game here are available for the "gen- eral public," that is, persons other than alumni and students. Just as soon as application blanks are issued this month, anyone may order for the big games and there is no restriction on the number which will be sent to one applicant. General public orders will be filled beginning September 12 in the order in which they have been received, which puts a premium on early action by fans who are choicy about their seat locations. SHOWER FOR BRIDE Miss Eunice Heinsen, 772 Lincoln street, Winnetka, entertained Monday evening at bridge and a lingerie and linen shower in honor of Miss Eliza- beth Ling who will become the bride of Bud Reesman this fall. -------- A no deviation. _-- 1608 Chicago Avenue' om -------- I -- Eh the customer a little more than seems neces- sary--in quality, in value, in service--has made thousands regard our store not merely as a "shop" but as an institution.
