Grad A group of representative North- western students attended the Hoover- Curtis college campaign dinner at the Union League club last Friday which marked the first steps to rouse student enthusiasm. Eighteen schools were represented by the 75 men and women present who will head the volunteer commit- tees in all colleges of any size in the middle west and west to obtain the college vote for Hoover. The entire college division of the campaign in the 29 states under the management of James W. Good is being organized by Lowell Hastings, who graduated from the Northwestern law school in June. Northwestern's volunteer committee will be headed by William Fetridge as chairman assisted by Jane Clover, vice chairman. Other members are Jane Olson, Betty Sargent, Earle Harrison, who was chairman of the dinner, Bob Howlett and Ed Vanderwicken, who are all campus leaders. Mr. Hastings presided as toastmaster at the dinner and among the speakers were Gen. Nathan William MacChes- ney, Mrs. Martin Kent Northam of Evanston who is directing the women's campaign and Ed Metzdorf, senior in the Northwestern law school. Vacation Days Over; Post Office Is Busy Vacation days among the employes of the Winnetka post office are about at an end for this year, and practically the entire force has returned, refreshed and ready for the busy season which is approaching. From this time on until the peak of the business during the Christmas holidays, Postmaster Joseph C. Braun says the records will show a gradual increase in volume. In fact, the business of the Win- netka post office indicates a steady in- crease, from month to month, a con- dition which has been recorded for a long time, and which is one of the best criterions relative to the growth of a community.
