This film is a wonderful realistic record of the entire crash of the old Russian government. Pudowin, the director, has taken for his chief figure a bewildered youth, who goes to the city and becomes part of the great overturn. But the hero of the picture is really the mass of the Russian workers and farmers. The story is told violently, in sharp flashes, lashing at capitalism with irony and hate. The film catches the restlessness of a whole sullen people in the chaos of revolu- tion. ] and Nancy Carroll will play the leads in a new picture, "Manhattan." On that date they will inaug- urate a new series of popular plays to be presented every Friday in conjune- tion with first class feature photo- plays. The first play, which will be pre- sented Friday, evening of next week at 8:15 p. m., will be Taylor Holmes' famous three-act comedy drama, "Net So Fast." A cast of favorites headed by Joe Driscoll, who will assume the role made famous by Taylor Holmes, will be in the play. The cast of char- acters follows: James Acton played by Jimmy Jack- son. Mary Standish played by Hazel Dell Christy, Rose Standish played by Cecil Har- mon, Robin Standish Frankenburg. Sylvester Vane played by Howard W. Rapport. Fay Fothergill played by Margaret Swip. 2 Arabella played by Helen Danielson. Henry Watterson Blake played by Mr. Driscoll. The feature picture for the evening will be the Paramount special, "Beau Sabreur." It will be shown both be- fore and after the stage play. "Stop That Man" Coming to Community House Soon All the ingredients that go to make up a rib-cracking comedy, plentiful intermingled with action, suspense, a an appealing love theme, are embodied in "Stop That Man," the Universal picture that is to be shown at t Community House next Tuesday, Se tember 18. "Stop That Man" is a screen version of the play of the same name by George V. Hobart. It te of a younger brother who wanted to be a policeman like his two older brothers, but who, instead, almost turned into a crook. Arthur Lake en- acts the leading male role with usual zestful portrayal and is said to appear to better advantage in this than in any of his previous pictures.
