September 15, 1928 WINNETKA TALK Marcus W. Hinson Opens Radio Shop in Hubbard Woods Marcus W. Hinson has opened a new radio shop in Hubbard Woods, at 910 Linden avenue, to be known as the Skokie Radio shop. Mr. Hinson has operated a similar shop in Wilmette for a year and a half, and because of the growth of his business on the north shore he decided to open the new shop to better serve his patrons in Winetka and Glencoe. The new shop in Winnetka is unique in its appointments. The panels con- tain life-size figures of athletes and musicians in characteristic poses, sug- gesting the programs received over radio. Mr. Hinson, who is a graduate in elcetrical engineering from Oklahoma A. and M. college, has repaired prac- tically every kind of radio set in use in this territory. He was formerly with the Western Electric company and has designed radio and horn equip- ment for several years for Chicago radio manufacturers. He has recently moved his Radio Service and Installa- tion shop in Wilmette to new quarters at 411 Linden avenue. Winnetka Loses Second Game to Wilmette Foes Winnetka lost the second game to Wilmette Sunday in the cup series, when, according to the locals, the um- pire, with the help of Burmeister, right fielder for Wilmette, pulled the trick, thus eliminating Winnetka from the cup series. Winngtka will play the K. of L., of Waukegan, at Skokie Playfield Sun- day at 3 o'clock. The visitors have two wins over Winnetka, but the locals hope to retrieve part of the lost honors. Lefty Mills will pitch for Winnetka. Doctor of Philosophy Ten society. re Graeme Canning, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P.
