Fogg, former teacher in the Glencoe Public schools, has been appointed superintendent of the Illi- nois Children's Home and Aid society training school for girls in Vermilion county, near Potomac. Mrs. Fogg did special work for retarded children in the Highland Park schools last year, and for seven years she has been es- pecially interested in girls and their activities as Camp Fire Guardian. Field Hockev Fans Begin Stiff Practice for British Contest The North Shore Field Hockey asso- ciation under the leadership of Mrs. Thomas McLaren of Winnetka is very busy these days practicing for some of the important games which come a little later on their schedule. They will play the English team which will shortly be touring the eastern part of the country on November 7 at the New Trier High school field. On October 27 and 28 games are scheduled here with the Madison team which is composed, in the main, of alumnae of the university living in Madison, and instructors. The association here is composed of three teams, a Winnetka team, a Skokie team and an Evanston one. These teams are meeting for practice three times a week: at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and 9 o'clock Saturday morning at Skokie Playfield and at 11:30 o'clock Monday morning on the meadow at Northwestern cam- pus. Anyone interested in hockey, whether or not they have plaved be- fore, is invited by the association to come out on any of the practice days. Women Score Final Playfield Tournament The last women's tournament of the season at Skokie Playfield last Wed- nesday was a big success in spite of the cold weather. There was a 9 hole tournament in the morning, followed by luncheon at noon and a putting contest in the afternoon. First and second low gross was won by Mrs. Joseph Brown and Carol Fossum. First and second low net by Mrs. R. F. Feagans and Mrs. R. N. Puetz. Mrs. G. W. Andrews and Mrs. George Perrigo won the putting prizes. SPEAKS AT LUNCHEON Walter Strong of Tower road and C. E. Younggreen of Milwaukee were speakers on the program for the Chi- cago Association of Commerce lunch- eon at the Hotel La Salle Wednesday.
