Miss Reed was a partner in the Hearthstone Tea Shop in Hubbard Woods, but on account of ill health she has not been able to enter into the activities of the busi- ness for more than two years. She had many friends on the north shore. Burial was at Williamsport, Pa., her old home. Miss Margaret Korrady, formerly of Kenilworth, now of the Orrington hotel, left October 2, for Stoneleigh school, Rye Beach, N. H., where she is entering her sophomore year. we Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stevens and their daughter, Frances, 330 Abbotts- ford road, Kenilworth are moving to the Orrington hotel for the winter. Milan Lusk to Appear in Recital October 7 Milan Lusk, violinist, is making his first appearance since his return from abroad Sunday, October 7, at the Eighth Street theater, with the Peo- ple's Symphony orchestra. The pro- gram will commence at 2:45 o'clock. Mr. Lusk will include in his solos, the Italian concerto by D'Ambrosio, which he played for Mussolini, and will play for the first time in Chicago, his own composition for violin and orchestra. Kraft Addresses First Artist Meeting The North Shore Art league held its first meeting of the season at Win- netka Community house last Thurs- day. In the absence of Lionel Robert- son, president, Albert H. Ulrich pre- sided. The league was extremely fortunate in having an artist of such outstand- ing merit as Carl H. Kraft with them to criticize summer sketches. Fach producing member had the privilege of bringing two sketches. Not only they, but everyone present, received great benefit from Mr. Kraft's instructive comments, The course tickets for the series of lectures, which Dudley Crafts Watson is giving this fall, beginning October 15 under the sponsorship of the North Shore Art league, are selling rapidly, according to reports from Mrs.J. W. F. Davies, 652 Lincoln avenue, Winnetka, who is general chairman of the ar- rangements for the lectures and is in charge of the committees selling the tickets. It is expected that Metz hall, Community House, will be "sold out" before the first lecture and single seats may be at a premium so the wiser course will be to procure a "sea- son ticket" from some member of the Art league committee.
