24 WINNETKA TALK October 6, 1928 Zender Full-Flivg red J 2 P CHICKEN A Delicious Old-Time Food There is a goodness in chicken that you could not possibly know until you have tasted Wapsie Valley Chicken. Here is chicken of fork-cutting tenderness--full of delicious flavor--full meated--a treat you will want to repeat. This new savoriness added to the old-time favorite food chicken comes from scientific breeding and feeding. A new kind of chicken is produced that is unequalled for fine eating. Wapsie Valley Chicken Such chickens can only come from one place--from the very heart of America's poultry country--from the rich, fertile farm lands of Towa. Here the Wapsie Valley Chickens are carefully raised and scientifically fed. When ideal for eating they are individually dressed "'dry-picked."" Never are they allowed to soak in water. They are all chicken from start to finish. Separately wrapped in clean white parchment paper, crated and shipped direct to your deal- er, and to the famous club and restaurant kitchens of the world. NOTICE Only the dealers listed receive Fresh Direet Shipments of the Genuine WAPSIE VALLEY CHICKENS and vositively will not substitute. BEWARE : . of the dealer who claims to have the genuine and tries to sub- stitute inferior quality. WAPSIE VALLEY CHICKENS are entirely different, they are fat and plump, full of soft, tender, flavory meat, perfectly dry and cleanly dressed. You will not find the eraw full of coarse feed and gravel, or soaked full of water like the ordinary kind that are being sold at low prices to fool the public, You would not buy milk or eream from a dairy that you knew added water to it to cheapen it. You would not buy pork chops that did not have the proper proportion of meat on them. Why should you buy chickens that are large in frame without the proper proportion of meat, and besides have the eraws, ete., stuffed full of feed and gravel, and soaked full of water to make it appear that you are getting a plump heavy chicken at a very low price? You are losing one-half pound of meat on every three pound water soaked chicken yom buy, or about seven eents on every pound, and if you are buying a six pound chicken you are losing just double this amount. WAPSIE VALLEY CHICKENS cannot be soaked full of water to take on weight, because they are DRY-PICKED. For that reason you get all chicken for your money instead of water, frame and gravel. Buy your WAPSIE VALLEY CHICKENS from the dealers listed, and you will be sure to get the Genuine Perfectly Fresh at the right price. IREDALE Agents for ALLIED VAN LINES Long Distance Movers Winnetka 1332 STORAGE Kurtis Brownell, Juillard Fellow, Visits North Shore Kurtis Brownell, formerly of Win- netka, and whose name is now fa- miliar in Chicago musical circles has been spending the past week visiting friends and relatives on the north shore. Mr. Brownell is enroute to New York from his home in Santa Monica, Cal, where he has spent the summer with his parents. In New York he will again take up his work in music at the Juillard Musical Foundation, where he has been studying for the past two years, This coming year's work is in the nature of an exceptional triumph, for it signifies the winning of a Juillard Fellowship by Mr. Brownell for the third successive year. It is unusual enough for a young singer to win a second fellowship, so that to win a third one is a great achievement and a distinct honor. Mr, Brownell possesses a rich tenor voice which he uses with rare ability and skill. Friends on the north shore have prophesied a brilliant future for this young singer, and he seems to work- ing right ahead to fulfill these prophe- cies. During his last year at Juillard he sang as soloist in a New York church, as well as broadcasting fre- quently over WJZ and WEAF in New York. He also appeared in concerts at the Juillard. Although nominally taking a vaca- tion this past summer, Mr. Brownell continued to work. He filled the po- sition of tenor soloist in the Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran church at Santa Monica and broadcasted frequently over KNX in Los Angeles and from a Santa Monica station as well. On his return to New York Mr. Brownell will return to his work as a church soloist and to his radio broad- casting, while continuing his studies at the Juillard. Miss Jean M.
