GAULT RETURNS Psychology Professor Finishes Studies of Soviet Education System Dr. Robert H. Gault, professor of psychology at Northwestern university, has returned from a summer in Russia where he studied the organization and operation of the system of education under the Soviet regime. Dr. Gault was one of a commission of educators made up by the Institute of International Education for the pur- pose of the Russian study. He has been on leave of absence from the univer- sity during the past four years while conducting special psychologic re- search under the auspices first of the National Research council, and more recently the Carnegie institution of Washington. He returns to the chair he formerly occupied here, and has brought with him his laboratory equipment and staff to work under his general direction. Dr. Gault is remembered for the tests he devised for taxi-cab drivers and his experiments with hearing by touch. He has written several works in his field. Mrs. Gault was with Dr. Gault in Europe and has returned with him now to their home in Evanston.
