WINNETKA 313 A rT TITY PLAN NOVEL COURSES AT COMMUNITY HOUSE Discuss Study "of Carpentry, Wood Working, and Various Craft Work Should it be found that there are a sufficient number of Winnetka citizens who would like to take up the study of carpentry, wood working, metal craft, hand craft and other arts and crafts this winter, Community House announces it is prepared and willing to provide such advantages. This would be an entirely new field of endeavor on the part of Commun- ity House, but inasmuch as a num- ber of inquiries have already been received from interested individuals, it is thought there are a sufficient num- ber of others in the village of like mind to warrant preparation for the work. With this thought in mind Com- munity House requests anyone who is so interested to communicate with some member of the staff at an early date, specifying in what particular line or lines of work he is interested. Room in Basement There is said to be room in the base- ment at Community House for equip- ping shops for various kinds of work. This will be done as soon as a suffi- cient number of persons for any one course of study warrants the same. It is not the desire of Community House to duplicate anything of this nature which is already being done in the village. The children in school have this opportunity, but a number of men and women have expressed a wish that they might also have a school of this nature, and a desire to serve them is the reason that Com- munity House is seeking further in- formation. Should there be sufficient demand for it, there is also said to be a pos- sibility of installing a forge, permit- ting working in iron. Mr. and Mrs, De Fores A.
