First of 5 Concerts at Skokie School to Be Given Nov. 2 The Music Fund in Boston is fin- ancing a series of five concerts to be given in connection with the music appreciation work at Skokie school. The first concert of the series, a violin recital by Herbert Kirschner, is to be presented at the Skokie school on Friday, November 2. Mr. Kirschner has studied in Eur- ope. He served an apprenticeship under Leopold Auer and Carl Flesh, and was concert-master of the Heford State Symphony orchestra and the Hanover State orchestra. Mr. Kir- schner has toured every country in Europe with the exception of Spain, and has appeared in America with such artists as Mason, Van Gordon, Forinchi, and Hackett. The dates for the succeeding con- certs of the series are December 2, January 19, March 20, and May 15, The second concert will be presented by a quintet of artist singers under the direction of Eric de Lamarter, as- sistant director of the Chicago Sym- phony orchestra and organist and musi- ical director at the Fourth Presbyter- ian church, Chicago. The Chicago trio, composed of Herbert Kirschner, violin- ist, Johan Lingemann, cellist, and Joseph Brinkman, pianist, will give the third concert. The fourth and fifth concerts will be given by the Chicago String quartet, ranked as one of the best organizations of its kind in Chicago. Residents of the village have been invited, and urged to attend all of the concerts: They are free to parents and 'Other relatives of the Skokie school pupils.
