November 3, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 11 Unique A. C's Next Foe for Unbeaten Winnetka Gridders The Winnetka football team, which has played six games to date this sea- son without a single point having been scored against it, will march on the field tomorrow against the strong- est opponents which have yet ap- peared or the local lot. The visitors, | Sunday, are to be the Unique A. Cs, from Chicago, whose latest achievement was a |} clean-cut 19 to 0 victory over the ig highly touted High- wood aggregation. Highwood is a team which the Winnetka players will meet before the close of the season. Four more games are to be played, including the tussle tomorrow, and the Winnetka fans are assured of a genuine battle in each event. The locals are determined to main- tain their winning reputation, and the Chicago area teams are each seeking the honor of breaking the Winnetka record. The game last Sunday was a 7 to 0 victory over the Chicago Kiwanis. The visitors came out expecting to avenge a 6 to 3 loss which they sustained at the hands of the Winnetka team last year. The game was closely contested throughout, but Winnetka managed to score in the first five minutes of play. The passing combination of Martin and Jackett resulted in bringing the oval to the visitors' five yard line, when Concidine went over on two suc- Paul Jackett cessful line smashes. Jackett's stellar playing was given deserved applause from the stands by the players and especially by an un- expected visitor. However, the glory of another Win- netka victory was not to be had until the final whistle blew, as the visitors made a determined march down the field to Winnetka's 10 yard line, where || they were held for downs. The Winnetka team, as a whole, {| played a fine brand of ball and was in the fighting every second of play. The public is urged to come out and wit- ness the game Sunday.
