Breaking Light Posts New Game With Motorists Here Three electric light posts were wrecked as a result of a like number of automobile accidents in Winnetka, Wednesday. One occurred early in the morning and the other two in the afternoon. At 3:10 in the morning, Lathrop Ressequie, 1484 Scott avenue, crashed into a post on Oak street, near Center street, according to the police. The car was towed to a garage where it is being held on order of the police pending the adjustment of damages to village property in the sum of $41. The second post to fall was on Sher- idan road, at Elm street, at 3:45 in the afternoon. F. R. Gamble, of 613 Sheridan road, Evanston, in an effort to avoid being struck by a car driven by Mrs. W. P. Holst, of 137 Glenwood avenue, Glencoe, swerved his car to the left, but could not avoid the impact, and "crash" went his car against post No. 2 Post No. 3 fell two hours later, in front of 574 Lincoln avenue. Bachecki, 802 Main street, Evanston, in backing a truck out of an alley, swerved the machine into an orna- mental light post, breaking it off near the ground. Junior Red Cross Holds Its Assembly at Skokie Junior Red Cross assembly was held at the Skokie school Thursday morn- ing and was conducted by the 8-D social problems class of Miss Marian Russell. The Skokie school conducts international correspondence and ex- changes portfolios with foreign schools. Several gifts from these schools pre- sented to the Skokie school last year and a new exhibit from a school in Japan were shown. Miriam Fetcher was chairman of the assembly and talks were given by Bet- ty Weston, Jeanne Stout, Stanton Schuman, Edmund Frazer, Stephen Powell, Bob Meleney, Grace Fales, Hobart Young, and Judith Fox. Other members of the class took part in a poster parade which was a part of the assembly program.
