ly EE -- Er November 17, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 13 Mrs. Frances M. Winne, Centenarian, Is Dead Mrs. Frances M. Winne, who would have been 101 years old next January 8, died Tuesday at the home of her son-in-law, Dr. Frank C. Dakin, of 1134 Hinman avenue, Evanston. Mrs. Winne had been a resident of Evanston for sixty years. She was a native of Catskill, N. Y., and came to Chicago with her husband, Abraham L. Winne, shortly before the great Chicago fire. The Winnes almost im- mediately took up their residence in Evanston. Mr. Winne died more than fifty years ago. Even after she passed the century mark Mrs. Winne maintained her in- terest in national and international events. Up to the time of her death she was a faithful reader of newspa- pers and magazines. Upon meeting Col. Charles A. Lindbergh several months ago, after his trans-Atlantic flight, Mrs. Winne remarked that she considered it one of the high lights of her long life. She was born January 8, 1828. Mrs. Winne was a great-great- grandmother, one of her great-grand- children, Mrs. E. Langdon Hubbard, of Grosse Point, Mich., being the mother of an infant son. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dakin, with whom she lived in Evanston, and Mrs. Rob- ert Cluett, of 1147 Sheridan road, Hub- bard Woods. Two granddaughters, Mrs. Frederick H. Scott, wife of an official of Carson, Pirie, Scott com- pany, and Mrs. Richard A. Conkling, and a grandson, Francis Dakin, repre- sent the third generation. There are several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Dakin home in Evanston Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was at Rosehill. Mrs. Horace Armstrong of 365 Sheridan road is in New York City for ten days.
