| - A RR a a a December 1, 1928 WINNETKA TALK - Only One Defeat; Winnetka Loses 14-0 to Highwood The Winnetka foot ball season came to a close last Sunday, with the only defeat the locals have encountered. The score was 14 to 0, in favor of the strong Highwood team, which, from the opening whistle, appeared to have a two-fold objective; first, to knock out Agate Martin, and second, to win the game. How well they succeeded, despite the determined fight of the local team, is shown by the score. Highwood had a good football team and through the efforts of their line crunching backfield, they were able to puncture the local's forward wall for consistant gains, Their first touchdown came in the second period when 21 bad pass from the Winnetka center went over the receiver's head and a High- wood man fell on the ball on the Win- netka 20 yard line. On four successive plays they shoved the oval across for the first score. Their second touchdown came in the last quarter by an off- tackle plunge by their fullback, ter- minating the score 14-0 in favor of Highwood. The Winnetka football team has proven to be a working unit of which local grid enthusiasts may well be proud, and it is announced that plans are already underway to have an equally good team next vear. The support which the team received the past year was greatly appreciat- ed, without which it feels that it could not have been so successful in its efforts. 2 Assemblies Planned at Skokie School Next Week Two assemblies are planned for the Skokie school next week.
