Winnetka 145 Eagle Scout Roger Barrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Barrett of Kenilworth, was .nade an Eagle Scout November 23. As he just passed his thirteenth birth- day last June, Roger is the youngest Eagle Scout in the North Shore Boy Scout Area and has already won his Joseph J. Siddall Dies of Explosion in Garage at Home Joseph J. Siddall, 840 Grove street, Glencoe, died as the result of burns Sunday night in the garage at the rear of his home, The burns are believed to have been caused by an explosion which took place while he was in- vestigating motor trouble. A neighbor saw the flash of light and heard the explosion. Mr. Siddall was formerly a resident of Wilmette for many years and was very well known in the community. He moved to Glencoe only within the last few years. He was fifty years old and was treasurer of the C. F, Baum com- pany, manufacturers of braids and tassels. He was a member of the Illinois Naval reserve, and had enlisted as an able-bodied seaman at the time of the Spanish-American war. He was a member of one of the 13-inch gun crews on the U. S. S. Oregon and par- ticipated in the battle of Santiago de Cuba on July 3, 1899 as well as sev- eral other engagements. Mrs. Siddall, who survives him, is known to many north shore persons as being a leader in Arden Shore work. The funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his home and burial took place at the North Shore cemetery.
