On Friday and Saturday, December 14 and 15, however, many north shore troops, patrols and family groups will journey to the mammoth Coliseum in Chicago to witness the gigantic Scout Jamboree, in which 14,000 Scouts will take part. A three-hour program interesting, thrilling, brimfull of events, showing Scouts doing things, will be demon- strated. The opening pageant, depict- ing the evolution, growth and develop- ment of Scouting, will be participated in by 14000 Chicago Scouts winding back and forth in a great parade of Scouting progress across the Coliseum floor. Chief Scout James E. West of New York City, and Walter W. Head, Omaha banker and President of the Boy Scouts of America, will invest new Scouts who have joined the great brotherhood of boys during the last few weeks. The Firemanship Merit badge, show- 'ng a small model house actually on fire in the center of the floor, will be demonstrated by Scouts skilled and trained in this work. . Various types of camps will be illustrated, Foresters, In- dian Villages and Bicycle camps. First Aid, pioneering, with all its collection of towers, cabins, derricks, etc., will be erected. A huge pageant depicting the massa- cre of Fort Dearborn will be shown. All Scouts and parents will want to take in this greatest picturesque gath- ering of Scouting ever held in the Middle West. - Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bosley, 528 Warwick road, Kenilworth are being congratulated upon the birth of a son, Saturday, December 1. Zoning Ordinance Complaints Heard by Village Board A number of violations of the zon- ing ordinance, most of which are mi- nor in nature and reported from vari- ous parts of the village, were consi- dered by the Council at its meeting Tuesday evening. The use of single family houses by additional families; the use of private garages in the residential district by carpenters and other small contractors for the storage of building equipment, and private schools in residential dis- tricts were the principal complaints, The matter was referred to the zon- ing committee to make a study of the situation and recommendations as to what the Council should do. The "eats" will be served before the fireplace in the new cabin.
