The annual canvass of the member- ship of St. John's will be undertaken on the afternoon and evening of Sunday, December 16. During the coming week informative material will be sent to every member of the church. This matter will give full information on the funds neces- sary for local church purposes, as well as for synodical, missionary, and benevolent purposes during the year 1929. All the church asks is that this material be read carefully by the members. There will be a big meeting of men at the church on Tuesday evening next at 7:45 o'clock. Invitations have been sent out to all voters in the church as well as to the young men approaching their majority. The object of the meeting is to stimulate general interest in the af- fairs of the church. The election of of- ficers is also on the program. We hope that the special letters of invitation will meet with a general response. On Thursday evening next the regular session of the Bible Hour for adults will be held at the Sunday school rooms, be- ginning at 7:45. This will be followed by the regular meeting of the Sunday School Staff at 8:45 o'clock. The Sunday school will again present the story of the Birth of the Christchild in recitation and song on Christmas eve at 7 o'clock, a service to which the public is cordially invited.
