December 8, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 61 Name B. E. DeMurg New Manager for the Georgian Hotel The Georgian hotel, Evanston, an- nounces the appointment of a new manager in the person of B. E. De- Murg, a member of a well known family of hotel keepers in Switzerland, who whs manager of the Lake Shore Drive hotel in Chicago when that hostelry was chosen as the abode of Queen Marie of Roumania during her visit there. Mr. DeMurg, who, during his twelve years in America has served as man- ager of the Millbrook Inn, in Duchess county, N. Y., and of the Lake Placid Inn in the Adirondacks, assumed his duties in Evanston December 1 when the resignation of the former manager, Matthew Szabody was effective. The new Georgian manager comes to Evanston with thorough under- standing of the important matters of cuisine and service. Andersons Give N. U. Stained Glass Window A stained glass window, the gift of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur A. Anderson to the school of law at Northwestern uni- versity, was to be unveiled by the donors yesterday afternoon, at o'clock. The elaborate window has been placed at the head of the stairs on the third floor of the law school, overlooking Chicago avenue. Walter Dill Scott, president of Northwestern, will accept the window. A number of prominent Chicagoans will be present at the unveiling, Mrs. Hugh Peterson, Warwick road, Kenilworth left Sunday night for St. Louis, Mo. to spend a week with her mother. She Is Praised Miss Ada Belle McCleery, superin- tendent of the Evanston hospital, has won the respect of the large majority of people who know of her work, but especially of the business and profes- sional men on the board of directors. W. W. Buchanan, president of the board, in words of praise following her report at the annual meeting of the hospital association credited her with the ability of a large business execu- tive. "She has the analytical mind nf an executive, and at the same time the nurse's human sympathy," he said. Latest figures show there are 144 re- ligious denominations in Illinois, as compared with 126 ten years ago. "| research Prof. Hilton Ira Jones Gives Talk at New Trier! Prof. Hilton Ira Jones of Wilmette, chemist with offices in the Kimball building, Chicago, spoke to the students of New Trier High school at an assembly Monday morning. Professor Jones explained the com- mercial uses of chemistry and outlined various processes used in commercial chemistry work. Llewellyn Jones, a sophomore at New Trier, is the son of Professor Jones. His daughter, Mrs. Clyde Peaster of Glencoe, and his son, Haydn, also are New Trier gradu- ates. A. J.
